Performances of The Art of Work take 30-40 minutes and include cooking vegetables over a butane camp stove so there will be a bit of smoke and the smell of roasted garlic in the air. I have not yet set off any smoke alarms and have performed in churches, hotels and conference centres.
At the conclusion of the performance I can offer to do a quick question and answer session if that fits within your timelines.
Payment: The honorarium and travel reimbursement is due on the day of the event. Checks can be made out to “Novel Concept Books”, Box 2744, Three Hills, AB, T0M 2A0
Accommodations: If required a regular hotel such as Holiday Inn or Howard Johnson is acceptable. Room should be non-smoking with two beds.
Book Table: A 6 foot table for book sales will be needed in the foyer or at the back of the meeting room.
Promotions: Pictures, bio, poster and press release are available upon request. Vance is available for local radio interviews via phone.
Set Up: Vance will need to set up 45 minutes prior to the start of the event. This can happen at the same time as bands or others are setting up on stage. The performance table requires a space 10 feet wide and 8 feet deep.
The performance does produce some smoke as cooking is over a butane flame (small flames contained in a metal container). To date smoke alarms have not be impacted by the performance.
Sound: In a smaller venue Vance can project his voice and be heard. In larger settings a headset or lapel mic my be needed as Vance requires both hands free to perform.
Introduction: “Vance Neudorf is the Executive Director of the Canadian Badlands Passion Play and the author of The Art of Work and The Scroll, two new books that help us to understand the book of Ecclesiastes.
Cancellation: In the event that you chose to cancel your engagement less than one month before the event a cancellation fee of $200 plus any prepaid travel expenses (tickets etc.) is payable to Novel Concept Books.
